Church Government
We have a Presbyterian form of government, which describes how a body of people from a particular church or denomination function together. Our form of government was originally found in the Book of Acts and the Pauline Epistles.
Congregations are joined together in Presbyteries through their elected Elder representatives in the church, and all of the churches in our denomination are joined together in the General Assembly.
Presbyterian government offers a system of checks and balances while ensuring fidelity to Christ and individual church freedom.
